This Privacy Policy and our Services are directed at consumers in the United States. The laws of the United States shall apply to the collection of personal information and other information through the Site. If you are accessing this Site from outside of the U.S., please note that the laws of the United States may not provide a level of protection equivalent to the laws in your home country and you understand and agree that we may transfer your Personal Information to the United States.

8. Artificial Intelligence, Voice, and Image Features

Categories of Data Collected via AI Features

When you use Kaigo.care's artificial intelligence features we collect:

  • - Voice and Audio Data: recordings of care interactions, caregiver notes dictated by voice, and audio captured through voice features
  • - Image and Photo Data: photographs for care documentation (wound documentation, medication verification, care environment records)
  • - AI-Generated Content: transcripts, summaries, care notes generated by AI Features

How We Use AI-Collected Data

We use voice recordings, images, and AI-generated content to: (i) create and maintain care notes and documentation within the Care Record; (ii) improve the accuracy and performance of our AI Features; (iii) provide care coordination services to authorized users; and (iv) comply with applicable legal requirements. We do not use AI-generated care notes or voice transcriptions to serve targeted advertising.

Third-Party AI Processors

Kaigo.care uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) Transcribe for voice-to-text transcription and large language model providers for AI-assisted notetaking and care summarization. These providers process your data as data processors on our behalf.

Biometric Information Notice

Certain states, including Illinois (BIPA), Texas, and Washington, have laws governing the collection of biometric identifiers such as voiceprints. If you are a resident of a state with biometric privacy laws, please be aware that voice recordings processed through AWS Transcribe may constitute biometric data under applicable law. By using voice features, residents of such states expressly consent to the collection and processing of their voice data as described in this Policy.

9. Security

We employ reasonable security measures to protect the personal information. For example, we secure all of our account information including your name, address, and credit card numbers (card numbers are encrypted) to protect your billing information as it travels through our systems. All credit card transactions are verified and processed by a third-party financial institution that receives credit card numbers and other personal information in an encrypted format. We take appropriate security measures to protect user data offline as well. Although we use our best efforts to protect the security of your information and our system, no security measures can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

10. Retention of Your Personal Information

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with Services and to maintain a record of your transactions for financial reporting and compliance purposes. If at any time you would like to remove your name or update the information you have provided, you may log-in to your account and click the "Edit Your Information" tab on our Site.

11. Elderly Privacy

Kaigo.care is committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of elderly and vulnerable adults who use or are the subject of care plans on our platform. We recognize that elderly users may have unique privacy concerns and may rely on family members, legal guardians, or care professionals to manage their accounts.

We take additional care to:

  • - Provide clear consent mechanisms before sharing any elder care recipient's information with third parties

Note: Kaigo.care is a care coordination platform specifically designed to support elderly and vulnerable adults. Additional elder privacy protections are described in Section 11 of this Policy. If you are a caregiver, family member, or legal representative accessing this platform on behalf of an elder, you agree to handle all personal information in compliance with applicable elder care laws and to use the platform solely for lawful care coordination purposes.
